This year will look a little different (SWIPE). But I’d have major FOMO if I didn’t sign up and do the workouts with my gym. I almost didn’t sign up because I didn’t want to go from like 60 something in the world to like 672726627282726. 😂 But then I remembered that nobody cares, and that was just pride.

I’ll be 7 months pregnant throughout the Open, but with ALL the divisions/equipment options, there is definitely something I CAN DO 😊 I hope one day my son will be proud to know that he did his first open in my belly.

My goal this year is to be a big support system for the people around me - who have BIG GOALS this open - as a coach, wife, and friend. ✌🏽

Taking my own advice from over the years and loving this body, no matter what shape or size.
My body is changing - literally it feels like by the day. I can’t even keep up. 😂 

I’m in awe of what a woman’s body is capable of, and this transformation has been so cool. I still have to give myself pep talks though, and remind myself that my worth isn’t in what I look like. Anyway, it’s been a great experience for me, and I can honestly say that I am proud with how I am handling it! 

The sweet baby kicks remind me that it’s worth it too. This has always been a dream of ours-and the road has been rocky to say the least. But here we are! Going to keep smiling and being grateful and doing my best!

So....Its been a little over a week since moving t So....Its been a little over a week since moving to Simpsonville. I’m happy to announce that I now have the opportunity to coach at @crossfitsvl as well as keep up the personal training here! If you are in the Simpsonville/Greenville area and looking to dial in and work on a skill, or get some 1-1 time in the gym, I’d love to help! I’ve had the opportunity to help different people, of all ages, abilities, and goals over the past 5+ years, and it’s one of the most rewarding things Ive been able to do in life. One year ago- Training for @wodapalooza - trying to learn how to consistently get ring muscle ups with a weighted ruck! I never would have thought that exactly a year later, I’d be 22 weeks pregnant and getting to meet with a PT, specializing in pelvic floor health- @jessicagingerichdpt

It’s crazy how a year can look so different, with different goals in mind, and at a different stage in life. Right now my focus is to make my body as healthy as I can to grow this baby boy, and to make sure I am working out in a way that is best for me and for him! I’m trying to set myself up well for labor and for after he is born. 

A woman’s body is so crazy, and ALL it takes to grow a human is fascinating. I’m loving getting to learn so much from Jess. 

@jessicagingerichdpt is amazing. She has become a friend to me, and she was even my partner in a workout this past week. She has helped me learn how to modify movements in the gym now, and she is teaching me how to learn to use muscles I didn’t even know I had 😧 Highly recommend her, and I’m glad her and her husband are in the Greenville area through @onwardgreenville 💓

Also, I’m sure we could prob take a more flattering pic later, but I am learning how I can’t get away with eating salty Mexican food and not having a swollen face the next day. I am swelling so much. All part of it I guess! Anyway, I am thankful to be where I’m at and thankful for the people CrossFit has brought into my life.
Not sure who needs to hear this right now...but... Not sure who needs to hear this right now...but...theres more to you than that thing you’re good at. In 2020, that hit me harder than ever. 

With the open coming up, I know it’s easy to COMPARE, stress, worry, and feel like you just can’t keep up. I know this because I hear it all the time, and because I’ve been there too!

And the truth is... there will always be someone out there better than you (at your gym, at your job, or wherever else you look). So instead of comparing and wasting so much energy on how you don’t match up, try focusing on how you can contribute. You can offer the people around you (and the world) a lot by being the best version of yourself. Enjoy the process. ✌🏽

20 WEEKS BUMPDATE 💙💙💙 Over halfway there 20 WEEKS BUMPDATE 💙💙💙

Over halfway there. Feeling great! - just a little tired, and feeling swollen everywhere. My thighs, hips, and butt are growing too, and those changes have been really cool. But this past week, he has really been popping out. I love holding him, and I’m just feeling really thankful.

I’ve been amazed by the support from other women. People reach out and say the kindest things. This has been a really vulnerable time, and most days I don’t know what I’m doing, but I am loving the process of figuring it out, and all of the love and support from other women, moms, and people in general has been really cool.

I hope he always knows how much his daddy loves him, and how great he is. I love affirmation, and he keeps telling me I’m doing good, so all is good there!

I haven’t felt him move yet (that I know of) but something is going on down there! We are pumped to go to our 20 week scan this week. We had the opportunity to see him last weekend (long story) but he gave us a little wave.

I’m eating pretty normal, and thankful to be craving healthy foods. I def had my fair share of @comredcupcakes this weekend though.

I’m working out 6 days a week, and my HR gets super high when working out. I am not able to really push it in workouts, but I am loving the adjustments. I love knowing that when I move my body, I am moving for both of us.

While at the time, I know everyone would have loved to be in the gym, I’m thankful for more time with family, working out with my dogs and Daniel, slowing down a little and not being so competitive, long walks to get tacos and/or ice cream, @dan_stall2s fresh margs, the gin and gingers, the sunshine that South Carolina gives, and all the great memories.
I’m sad to be leaving this home that has been so good to us over the years, but excited for all the new memories coming up.

Today was my last day at @ecmma_fitness. Most of a Today was my last day at @ecmma_fitness. Most of all, I’m going to miss the great people there. This girl right here - @nelliegmason - is the biggest ray of sunshine ☀️ you’ll find. She made a big impact in my life over the past 5 months, and is a great representation of the people there. She works hard every day, laughs at herself on the daily, isn’t afraid to lift a barbell, AND she brings the GOOD VIBES every day. As a coach, you always want people like Nellie in your class because other people will feed off their positive energy, and it makes for a fun, care free environment. I’m trying to be more like Nellie!

Daniel and I are moving to Greenville in a couple weeks- more specifically Simpsonville. While it’s not too far away, being a little further away from a lot of people we care about is tough, but we are so pumped about this adventure!

17 Weeks Pregnant and feeling GOOD 💪🏾 I’ve 17 Weeks Pregnant and feeling GOOD 💪🏾 I’ve still been trying to move and get a workout in 6 Days a week. Workouts don’t look the same as they used to, but that’s all good.

While finding out that there is a baby inside of me has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, and to us, it has been CrAzY watching this body grow and transform. It’s amazing what a woman’s body is capable of. However, just being real, I give myself pep talks on the daily to remind myself that my identity is far greater than what my body looks like and how great my workouts are. It’s been a growing process, for sure. I wanted to throw it out there, because I’m sure others can relate too. 
I’m still doing my best to make sure our baby boy is healthy, and that I’m healthy. We have all of our food prepped and ready for this week (shoutout to @dan_stall2 for doing most of that while I was outside). I’ll keep working out and staying active as my body allows! Hope you will continue to do the same in 2021.

Workout Was:
12 minute AMRAP
3 One Arm DB Hang Snatch
3 One Arm DB Thruster
3 Windmills
3 One Arm DB Overhead squat 
*Get all reps on right arm, and then switch to left arm.
(This would be a great warmup for some😀)

Then:
4 Rounds:
10 Reps of complex:
Renegade Row Right Arm + Renegade Row Left Arm + Pushup + DB Burpee Deadlift.
Paired With 10 Strict Pullups 

I got tired of only having 50 Lb DBs at our house, so I went to academy and found some 35s 💪🏾 That made this way more manageable 😂

2020 looked nothing like I thought it would! (Most 2020 looked nothing like I thought it would! (Mostly in a good way). I can’t help but look at these “top 9” pictures and be so grateful!- For the miracle(s), new adventures, failures, uncertainty, really cool experiences (and the people who helped make them possible). I learned a lot, grew a lot, failed a lot, slowed down a lot. My family is healthy, and we have all we need.

1. Finding out that we are pregnant! This was the coolest thing that has ever happened to me, and to us. It showed me that nothing is impossible, and sometimes things happen when you least expect them to.

2. Starting the adoption journey back in January! What a cool test of faith and an awesome adventure to jump into. Hope to pick up where we left off one day!

3. Finding out we are having a boy at our bomb gender reveal that @nancy.dufford.sumner & @riley.sumner helped make possible. 💙 It made this whole baby making thing even more special.

4. And 5. Looks like @tiaclair1 was pretty popular in my posts. 😂 This day at the Mayhem Classic, getting to compete in the last heat as one of the Top 5 was really HUMBLING and didn’t go perfectly, but I’ll always remember the kindness shown to me by Tia and the CrossFit community. 😭

8. Wodapalooza Recap. I am so thankful for the opportunity to compete in TWO sanctionals in 2020 before covid took over. I had two that were canceled, but not many people can say that they got to actually compete in one in 2020. WZA was so special. I felt a little out of my league going up against all games athletes, but I did better than I thought, and had a lot of fun. We had a fun group go, we didn’t almost burn any houses down this year. This was also the first big comp I’ve ever done where I could have a legit coach in the warmup area with me, so thanks to @barbudo54 for being that person and keeping me cool.
